Fundraiser evening in Guernsey, Channel Islands  At the end of June Diva Opera, the leading British chamber opera company, performed La Traviata and Don Pasquale in the round in a wonderful setting of a concert hall to very appreciative audiences. The performances were held in the presence of the Lieutenant-Governor and Lady Malbon and the head of the Island, the Bailiff and Mrs Rowland. David and Christina Hodgetts, who organised the event, had secured sponsorship from Generali Worldwide and from John and Geraldine Whittaker, so all ticket money and donations will be directed to DSU. David was delighted to be able to announce that a total of ?43,000 had certainly been raised.
